My new job in mental health

Hey OT process readers, Happy 2017!

I can believe it’s been so long since I last posted-2016 in fact. I’m sorry I have left it so long but change has been afoot and the blog got neglected. I moved into my lovely new house and now I am in my second week of my new job in acute adult inpatient mental health.

Regular readers may be wondering why I’ve switched tracks from physical to mental health. I felt that, at still an early point in my career (3 years qualified), I wanted to experience both the physical and the mental health sides of OT. Mind and body are so closely linked and whatever way I chose to go in the future, having experience in both hopefully will make me a better OT.  It’s going to be a challenge but one that I am very much looking forward to and I’m sure I’ll get a lot out of it, and I’ll have lots to tell you on the blog as I work through the various challenges that present themselves!

In the meantime dear readers I have a favour to ask of you. Can you recommend OT mental health blogs and resources that can help me?

Thanks in advance, write to you soon.

Helen
